Wallingford Community Dinners has been serving the community for over 40 years by providing dinners to those in need on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. We are a non-profit volunteer organization with a board of directors. We rely on financial donations and many volunteers to help with the various tasks in providing dinners for each event.
Dinners are served on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter at First Congregational Church, 23 South Main St, in Wallingford, CT from noon to 2 p.m. and delivered to pre-registered homebound residents from 11 a.m. to noon.
Volunteer Opportunities
Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit to a full day, we welcome all volunteers, including families and students in need of community service hours. On the days leading up to the dinners, volunteer in the kitchen for food prep and cooking, or lend a hand with table setup. During the events, join us to serve meals and bus tables, deliver meals to the homebound, and clean up. Every contribution makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Our Mission
Wallingford Community Dinners was founded on the belief that no one in our community should be hungry or alone on a holiday. We strive to provide a nourishing dinner, a warm welcome, and a sense of community to all who are in need in the Wallingford area. Dinners are served onsite to all who walk in. Reservations for delivery to the homebound in the community can be made two weeks before each event.
